Responsible Sourcing Manager, San Francisco, CA

As a Sourcing Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the onboarding of new clients once the initial sales cycle is complete; includes working closely with clients to develop and formalize client specific processes and liasing closely with regional hubs and finance teams;
  • Building and managing relationships with assigned client contacts and proactively working with client to further develop and/or enhance program as appropriate;
  • Responding to client inquiries and trouble-shooting any issues associated with the client;
  • Interacting and working closely with ELEVATE regional hubs (North Asia, South Asia, Americas, EMEA) on meeting client expectations;
  • Overseeing projects (both client and internally driven);
  • Liaising with relevant multi-stakeholder bodies & NGO’s as needed;
  • Ability to travel for business development and client meetings as needed

Preferred Qualification:

  • A 4 year college degree;
  • 6 + years of experience, with 4 years of experience in the Ethical Sourcing/Labor Compliance arena either for a brand/retailer or service provider;
  • High level of integrity and honesty;
  • Understanding of the limitations of most brand compliance programs in order to help add additional value through alternative scheme application and recommendations;
  • Creative and entrepreneurial minded;
  • Ability to network and undertake business development duties as needed;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Excellent written and verbal English and one additional language (preferred);
  • Ability to manage projects; and
  • Global experience and/or experience working in a global operating environment a plus.

Professional Experience

  • 1 year or above relevant experience in health, safety, environment, and labor compliance or equivalent
  • 2+ years general management / leadership experience
  • SA8000 Auditor Certification, ISO 9000:2008 Certification, or equivalent is a plus
  • Possess knowledge of International and local labor standards and human rights issues are preferred
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
