ELEVATE launches WorkerApp to address the increasing need for real-time communication with workers

  • Published: 14 July 2020

To be resilient, supply chains must be able to quickly understand and respond to worker’s needs. On Tuesday, July 14th ELEVATE, and Fung Group announced an agreement to transfer Fung Academy’s WorkerApp to ELEVATE. The app addresses the increased need for real-time communication with workers to manage supply chain disruptions. Workers can raise issues and know they will be addressed. Companies can keep workers informed and make decisions based on data on retention and productivity.

ELEVATE is a pioneer in supporting buyers and suppliers to use technology-supported worker engagement. WorkerApp takes advantage of accessible technology to simplify two-way communication between factory management and workers. WorkerApp offers “3-in-1” functionality putting three essential tools into 1 app in a way that is compelling to workers.

  1. Virtual feedback box for workers to raise concerns and suggestions.
  2. Survey tool to gather worker opinion.
  3. Mobile alert and training tool to share important information and courses with workers.

The app includes content on COVID-19 hygiene and preparedness. WorkerApp can also push essential communication such as a Covid-19 Health Declaration Survey to all workers to screen their health status. By expanding the availability of the app we aim to transform and improve factory performance and strengthen the recovery of retail supply chains from COVID-19.

WorkerApp was launched in 2018 as a service to the consumer goods supply chains operated by Fung Group and is currently used by over 50 factories in Vietnam, Indonesia and India. It is available in 7 languages including English and has over 300 pieces of educational content including animations, lessons, presentation and bite-sized learning tips on topics such as worker safety, health and wellbeing and personal development.

WorkerApp will be integrated into the capacity building and advisory services operated by ELEVATE, including the EiQ analytics platform and EiQ Supplier Solutions. This contributes to ELEVATE’s Worker Engagement tools to reach over 5 million workers at over 3,000 workplaces in over 30 countries.

Now more than ever, companies need direct engagement with workers, 365 days a year. With better insights from WorkerApp, factory management can increase employee engagement and morale, and enhance communication between workers and supervisors – all helping boost employee retention and productivity,” said former VP Capacity Building.
