Breakfast Roundtable: Children’s Rights in the Agricultural Sector (Invitation Only)

  • Lotus Suite 9, 22/F
  • 19 September 2019
  • 07:00 - 09:00 (BKK Time)

The agricultural sector in Southeast Asia is a major regional force, both as a driver of GDP as well as a formal and informal employer. However, with the combination of growing populations, migrant workforces and the threat of climate change, agrobusiness in Southeast Asia is at a crossroads, particularly for its largest and most vulnerable population: children.

With that in mind, Global Child Forum and ELEVATE are holding a free invitation-only breakfast roundtable to bring key stakeholders in agrobusiness together to address the common issues in children’s rights in Southeast Asia.

During the session, Global Child Forum will share industry and regional specific findings from their latest report, the 2019 Global Child Forum Global Benchmark of 700+ companies as well as supporting regional data from the Children’s Rights and Business Atlas, developed in partnership with UNICEF. Representatives from major food and beverage producers and retailers in Southeast Asia, as well as multi-lateral actors are encouraged to share their best practices and challenges during roundtables on informal employment, living wages and land rights within the agricultural sector.
