ELEVATE Strategic Partner webinar: SDG progress and COVID-19 impacts and recovery opportunities
Companies looking to align their strategies with the Sustainable development Goals (SDGs) need to understand how countries and regions are progressing in achieving the goals and where they can help address progress gaps and investment opportunities. This is the third webinar in our ELEVATE Strategic Partner webinar series on the SDGs.
Join guest speaker Guillaume Lafortune, Manager at the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) on July 23 at 4pm HKT. Guillaume will provide important insights for corporate sustainability executives looking to understand SDG progress at country level and aiming to align business, community investment and stakeholder engagement strategies.
This 60-minute webinar will:
- outline the likely short-term impacts of COVID-19 on the SDGs and describe how businesses can help leverage the goals to frame the recovery, and
- introduce the 2020 Sustainable Development Report which tracks progress by countries towards the SDGs (since its launch in 2016, this annual report has provided the most up-to-date data to track and rank the performance of all UN member states on the SDGs).
About SDSN:
The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) was commissioned by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in 2012 to mobilize scientific and technical expertise from academia, civil society, and the private sector to support practical problem solving for sustainable development at local, national, and global scales. SDSN operates national and regional networks of knowledge institutions, solution-focused thematic networks, and is building the SDG Academy, an online university for sustainable development.
