Augustine Anthuvan, Executive Producer, Channel NewsAsia


Augustine Anthuvan is a journalist, media trainer, moderator at international fora, speaker at conferences and producer of Channel NewsAsia's flagship panel discussion programme: Perspectives. To date, Augustine has produced 94 episodes of ‘Perspectives’ - Channel NewsAsia’s flagship panel discussion programme (2012 to present).

He also writes, narrates and produces special documentaries. His recent projects include: ’The ASEAN I Know’ (2018); ‘Tapestry: The Heart of ASEAN’ (Executive Producer/2018); ‘A Nuclear Affair’ (Indonesia/2016); America 3.0: Inside the Black Box (USA/2015) and Typhoon Haiyan Survivors (Samar, Philippines/2014).

Some of his other notable works include: ‘Mighty Mekong – Mother River of Southeast Asia’, which won the ‘Coca-Cola Environmental Story of the Year’ award at the Asian Environmental Journalism Awards in 2012. In 2010, he worked on a special two-part Channel NewsAsia exclusive titled: ‘Guardian of the Nation’ focusing on Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Among other news features he has produced is an extensive work called ‘Remembering 1989 - Fall of the Iron Curtain’ (2009), which spans reports from Berlin, Gdansk, Prague to Budapest.

Augustine is also a master script writer and an established commentator for “live” programmes and has covered five Singapore state funerals.

On the ground, Augustine is a frequent moderator for forums both in Singapore and abroad.

Augustine’s work extends to training. His training includes journalist courses and strategic media relations training courses for government agencies, private sector, NGOs and foundations.

Prior to his move to television, Augustine was Assistant Programme Director for Radio Singapore International's English service at Mediacorp’s Radio Division.

Augustine holds a Master of Environmental Management from the University of Adelaide, and a degree in Mass Communications from Oklahoma City University.
