Elena Espinoza, Manager, Social Issues, UNPRI


At UNPRI, Elena manages collaborative engagements on social issues. She supports investors’ efforts to address social issues such as human rights, working conditions and modern slavery with companies in their portfolio by coordinating engagements and publications that support the identification of key ESG issues in the market. Elena has more than nine years of experience in integrating sustainability into the commercial strategies of multi-national businesses in sectors including aviation, infrastructure, finance, retail, manufacturing, and fast-moving consumer goods. 

Previously she worked at Business in the Community, UK’s leading membership advisory organisation which convenes FTSE 350 CEOs, senior royals and government officials. Elena managed BITC’s work in corporate strategy development, impact measurement, sustainability reporting, and international sustainability benchmarking. 

Elena holds a MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a MSc on Environment and Sustainable Development from University College London, and a BEng in Production Engineering from Simon Bolivar University (Caracas, Venezuela).
