Kharisma Nugroho, USAID Asia Counter Trafficking in Person Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Advisor, Winrock International


Mr. Kharisma Nugroho has professional background in accounting and sociology, with a specialization in generating learning that matters for adaptive programming. He has more than 20 years of experience in organising a series of complex learning processes for improving effectiveness of development initiatives including design of monitoring and evaluation plan, development of learning agenda and impact evaluation. 

He holds a PhD in Sociology from University of Indonesia and is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Health Policy and Management at Erasmus University in the Netherlands. He served his early professional career as chief accountant with Royal Dutch Shell and Siemens Indonesia and then work in development sector with various organizations in Southeast Asia.  Recently he co-authored “Local Knowledge Matters: Power, Context and Policy Making in Indonesia”, a book on local knowledge and policy making. Through his research and advisory work, Kharisma is an active promoter and advocate for fair-minded international research collaboration between international and research institutes.
