  • 27-28 March 2019
  • 08:30 AM (AEDT)

STOP THE TRAFFIK, Australia, in partnership with ELEVATE, insync, The Difference Incubator, and Mekong Club, are convening forums on the Modern Slavery Act

Two forums in Melbourne and Sydney will:

  • Build an understanding of Modern Slavery in supply chains (as it applies to the Australian Modern Slavery Act),
  • Point to resources and tools for businesses,
  • Create a space for conversation, networking and mutual learning.

The Australian Modern Slavery Act is now law. The first reporting period will be 1 July 2019 – 30 June 2020.

Please visit the event website for more information and registration, or contact ELEVATE’s Sydney-based director, Mabel Wong, at [email protected].

Who will be there?

Joining STOP THE TRAFFIK, Australia, ELEVATE’s Dr. Kevin Franklin will address the topic “The Where, Who and How of Ending Modern Slavery in Supply Chains,” and lead a workshop on “Compliance, Audit and Beyond.”

PLEASE NOTE: Forums will be conducted under Chatham House Rule and participants will be reminded of their obligations under the Commonwealth Competition and Consumer Act 2010 upon registration and at the beginning of the day.
