Debasis Manna is Senior Manager of Raw Materials for Walmart’s Global Sourcing organization. Debasis’ team is responsible for meeting the raw material needs of Walmart’s US & CANADA apparel business. This includes strategy for materials sourced from China, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. Debasis also helps lead Walmart’s efforts to drive sustainability in the apparel value chain – including implementation of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition’s widely accepted Higg Index Facility Environmental Module (FEM).

Prior to his role at Walmart, Debasis worked extensively on raw material sourcing for various US and European apparel manufacturers and buying offices. He brings hands-on experience in material sourcing, price negotiation, market strategy, sustainability and product engineering from his work in places such as China, India, Taiwan, Korea, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Indonesia and across Latin America.

Debasis is a Dale-Carnegie graduate and holds a post graduate degree in Textile Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi, where he was a German Academic Exchange Scholar (DAAD). Debasis currently resides in Shanghai with his family.
