Suzanne van Huijgevoort is based in ELEVATE’s New York City office and co-directs the North America Advisory and Consulting team. Suzanne is responsible for leading data-driven responsible sourcing, sustainability, and human rights programs and engagements for clients in food and agriculture, apparel, hospitality, and other industries. She brings extensive experience in Business and Human Rights and Sustainability / ESG and has lived and worked in Europe, Asia, and North America.

Before joining ELEVATE, Suzanne worked at a sustainability consulting firm in New York, advising clients on ESG strategy design, materiality assessment, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability reporting. Prior to that, she was based in Cambodia with an international development organization, where she developed agricultural value chain programs for specific commodities and led projects on land rights, human rights, and economic empowerment. While working at CSR Netherlands (MVO Nederland), Suzanne was part of the team that developed CSR Risk Check, a due diligence tool for ESG in supply chains.

Suzanne holds a Master of Arts in Global Studies from the University of Freiburg in Germany, the University of Cape Town, and Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, and has a bachelor’s degree in both History and Language & Culture Studies from Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
