Training 1 – Creating Shared Value (FULLY BOOKED)
15 September 2014, 9.00–12.00

Creating Shared Value (CSV) compliments CSR, through implementing initiatives that enhance the competitiveness of a company while also advancing the economic and social conditions in which that company operates thereby, meeting social needs. The CSV approach represents an exciting new wave of social responsibility and community investment that can enhance the long-term viability of projects.

Training 2 – Supply Chain Responsibility (FULLY BOOKED)
15 September 2014, 9.00–12.00

Supply chain auditing is increasingly considered necessary but not sufficient to protect brands and workers from risk. New approaches are emerging, including worker training, capacity-building for managers, joint industry initiatives, and collaborating with NGOs, local government and other stakeholders in key supply chain locations. This session will help you understand how different approaches may be relevant to your industry and supply chain. The initiatives highlighted will be illustrated with real examples of how Asian companies are rolling them out in practice.

Training 3 – Strategic Community Investment (FULLY BOOKED)
15 September 2014, 9.00–12.00

This training brings new content that looks at practical steps on how to develop strategic corporate community investment initiatives that add value for both communities and the business. This interactive workshop will provide attendees a step by step process on how a business can identify key communities, issues to support and the internal structures needed to deliver quality community investment programmes that are aligned to business priorities and expertise while meeting community needs. The session will examine approaches, lessons learned and case studies of different companies’ contributions to communities, including how employees are engaged in the process. There will also be a section on impact measurement of community investment programmes using the innovative “CSR Asia Community Investment Scorecard” tool.

Training 4 – Reporting and Communications

Stakeholders are increasingly holding companies accountable for their activities and demand information that is consistent, material, comparable, credible and well structured. This course helps you to learn about international reporting standards and how to deliver your sustainability message effectively to support business objectives.

Training 5 – Building and Implementing a CSR Strategy (FULLY BOOKED)

This practical session is aimed at companies who want to make their CSR strategies truly strategic and embedded into the organisation. It will examine the systems that need to be implemented in an organisation to create value. The course will build on a strategic framework that has been tried and tested with a number of CSR Asia clients. It will look at successful implementations plans, how to get employee buy-in through "CSR Champions" and the importance of partnerships.

Training 6 – Inclusive Business
15 September 2014, 13.30 – 16.30

Asia’s rapid economic growth has lifted tens of millions out of poverty but has also resulted in widening income disparity and inequality, which is not conducive to stable and sustainable growth over the long term. Companies have the opportunity to contribute to a more stable and inclusive Asia by including people in their value chains and creating opportunities for meeting the needs of millions of people in poverty. This short course will look at the various ways companies are engaging with lower-income segments, through inclusive business interventions, engaging poor people and small enterprises in supply chains, and reaching new customers with innovative products or services.

Training 8 – Social Return on Investment (SROI) (FULLY BOOKED)

Would you like to better understand the social impact of your organisation?

Social Return on Investment (SROI) is an internationally recognised approach for valuing social, economic and environmental outcomes. SROI can help business identify risks and opportunities and provide a framework for assessing whether the business should actively manage them. For businesses that are selling to customers that have social or environmental goals, SROI can help business identify how it can contribute to those goals. It will throw up potential improvements to services, information systems and the way you govern you businesses. All in order to increase the social value or impact of your work.

For the first time in Asia, CSR Asia is partnering with international experts Social Ventures Australia (SVA) Consulting to run a workshop on SROI. SVA Consulting is a leading provider of SROI analyses to businesses, social enterprises, corporate foundations, governments and not-for-profits. Over the last six years SVA Consulting has completed over 80 SROI-related projects and analyses.

Anna Crabb is a Consultant within the SVA Consulting team who specialises in SROI. Anna has led SROI analyses for the Australian Government Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, leading Australian social enterprises and not-for-profits, including the Starlight Foundation.
