The 2016 Summit programme is guided by the theme of sustainability leadership. The CSR Asia Summit will focus on identifying scalable business solutions for increasingly complex global challenges and exploring new strategies that position sustainability as a driver of innovation and value creation. Asia will continue to be the growth engine of the world economy in the decades to come. As Asian businesses expand their global and regional presence, they will face the multi-faceted challenge of managing growth alongside social and environmental constraints. The Summit will debate the important role that Asian businesses need to play in sustainable development.

Content this year will fall under four main themes:

Strategic Value Creation

Businesses are interested in ways that create more value through CSR and sustainability strategies.  Sessions under this stream will explore how sustainability leaders are leveraging sustainable business strategies to bring shared value to business, community and society. This requires innovation, the development of new partnerships, improved communication and a reinforced focus on impact.

Business Leadership for Sustainable Development

The Sustainable Development Goals are now being operationalised. There is a significant role for private sector engagement and business leadership in the new development agenda. This will require business to address challenges such as food security, growing megacities and poverty reduction through innovative partnerships, new inclusive business models and financing solutions.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

This stream will explore the various risks - from climate change and water risks to slavery deep down the supply chain – that business leaders and sustainability professionals need to be aware of and manage in Asia Pacific today. Is doing good, doing more harm than good? Is seafood trade or the Chinese traditional medicine business fundamentally unsustainable? With increasing sustainability regulations around the world, transparency and disclosure is more important than ever making companies share not only the good, but also the bad and the ugly.

Make it Happen

A series of practical workshops will equip Summit delegates with tactics and tools they need to advance the sustainability agenda within their organisations. What does it take to make it happen and move beyond taking small steps, to have a change in mindset, transforming corporate strategy to creating positive impact?
