Jose Arguedas

Head of Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility at Global Fashion Group (GFG)

Jose Arguedas was born in Guatemala and has been a sustainability and corporate responsibility expert with over 18 years of experience in human rights and environmental sustainability, supporting multinational companies in developing strategies, mapping and engaging stakeholders, working on public policy and on supply chain compliance.

Jose currently heads the global sustainability function at Global Fashion Group (GFG), the world’s leading online fashion destination for high growth markets, responsible for developing and implementing ethical and environmentally conscious policies and operational practices, spread across five independent business channels.

Previously Jose was the Head of Global Partnerships at Gap Inc, where he led a senior team managing stakeholder relations, as well as a series of sustainability collaborations and projects. Regularly conducted materiality tests and risk assessments that aimed to improve a sustainable and responsible business model.  Before then, as a senior CSR manager, Jose successfully managed social responsibility teams in Latin America and Europe.
Jose was also a Steering Committee Member at the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) in 2008, Chair on the Advisory Board at Social Accountability Accreditation Services (SAAS) in 2010, Member of the Advisory Committee on Business and Human Rights at the OECD – 2014, and has Represented Gap Inc. and GFG at the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) since 2009
