Astha Ummat is a Vice President of ESG Investment Management at Temasek where she leads ESG integration and value creation for Temasek’s North America and EMEA investments.

Astha has over a decade of experience in sustainability. Prior to joining Temasek in 2022, Astha was the Head of ESG at Centerbridge Partners where she led ESG integration for the Firm’s global Private Equity, Credit, and Real Estate investment platforms. Astha is an Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps Fellowship Alumnus, and has previously held roles with the Indian federal government on energy and climate change policy and sustainable infrastructure projects, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and the International Labor Organization, after starting her career at Google.

Astha holds an M.P.A. from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, an M.S. in Environmental and Resource Economics from TERI School of Advanced Studies, and a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Delhi.
