Becca Balis

Senior Consultant, Consulting NAM, LRQA

Becca is based in ELEVATE’s New York City office, supporting clients to design sustainability, human rights, and ESG programs. Her background is in law, and she brings a social inclusion and gender lens to her work.

Becca has more than a decade of experience, most recently, with the World Bank Group, where she supported the implementation of the Bank’s social sustainability projects and environmental and social frameworks across investments. Becca also served as a legal advisor for small and medium-sized enterprises globally on ESG and sustainability. Becca has lived and worked in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, West Africa, and the Caribbean, implementing international human rights and development projects for the UN and international NGOs, focused on child rights, migrants, and gender equality.

Becca is a board member of the International Migrants’ Bill of Rights, and a Senior Advisor with RISE Travel Institute, promoting sustainable travel.

Becca received the Pruckmayr Human Rights Award at Georgetown Law, where she earned her JD and was a Blume Public Interest Scholar. She has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and earned certificates in sustainable finance and ESG from Boalt Hall, Berkeley Law.
