Ernesto has worked on sustainable seafood issues for over 25 years and is the ASIC Improvements Director who oversees all of ASIC’s on the ground improvement efforts in Southeast Asia. An aquaculture expert based in Philippines with extensive knowledge on regional sustainability issues, Ernesto has worked on improvements projects for tilapia and shrimp farms in the Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia. Ernesto has international experience with developing aquaculture standards and was a member of the steering committee for the Shrimp Aquaculture Dialogue which created the Aquaculture Stewardship Council’s shrimp standard. Ernesto holds a PhD in Aquaculture from the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling, Scotland.
