Nang Seng Aye

Chief Agronomist, Proximity Designs

Nang Seng Aye is the Chief Agronomist at Proximity Designs. She oversees the development and roll out of critical agronomy practices and crop protection services delivered through Proximity’s field force and digitally.   

Spearheading the agronomy team, she has led the expansion of Proximity’s soil health test to seven crops and collaborated with the Myanmar government’s Department of Agricultural Research (DAR) to bring biopesticide Trichoderma to small farmers across the country.  

Nang has over 15 years of experience in agronomy, starting her career in the field as an extension agent giving sustainable crop production knowledge to farmers. Eventually moving into research and training, she conducted extensive research on soil conservation and nutrient management and provided wide-ranging agronomy training to staff at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation. She has a PhD in soil science from La Trobe University in Australia.
