2. Visa arrangements
|
The Malaysian visa on arrival will be automatically issued to tourists:
• ASEAN nationals –
No visa is required for a stay of less than one month for nationals of all ASEAN countries except Myanmar
• American & EU Citizens –
Will be granted 3 months visa on arrival
• Other nationals
Who require a visa, must apply and obtain the visa in advance at the Malaysian embassy before entering the country.

3. Traveling from airport to city area
|
There are several ways you can travel from the airport to the conference venue at the city area. Kuala Lumpur also has two international airports and they are:
1) Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)
2) Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) –
Distances from the airports to Kuala Lumpur City 45mins to 1.15 mins
From Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) to the City (Bukit Bintang Area)

4. Food
|
There is a great variety of food in Malaysia: spicy Malay Food, a seemingly endless variety of Chinese food, exotic cuisine from North and South India, as well as Nyonya and Portuguese Food. Popular Malaysian dishes include satay, nasi lemak, rendang, roti canai, murtabak, laksa, chicken rice, and fried noodles. Western cuisine is also easily available.
The conference fee includes the refreshments and lunches on 27 and 28 October.

5. Weather
|
Due to its tropical climate, Kuala Lumpur is generally hot and sunny all year round; visitors are advised to wear comfortable clothing to avoid heatstroke. A jacket or sweater may be recommended for air-conditioned rooms. There can also be scattered unpredictable rains; it is therefore advisable to always bring an umbrella.

6. Languages
|
Bahasa Malaysia (the national language) and English are widely spoken. Mandarin and some Chinese dialects are also widely spoken.

7. Email and Internet facilities
|
Malaysia is a country where internet is growing in popularity. You can find facilities in most of the major tourist areas. Most of the hotels are offering an internet access for their guest. There are many Internet and email facilities available for public use. Cyber-cafes are everywhere and cost a mere RM 2.00 - RM 5.00 an hour.

8. Local time
|
Standard Malaysian Time is 8 hours ahead of GMT (GMT+8)
|
9. Currency
|
The official currency in Malaysia is the Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Foreign currencies can be changed for Malaysian Ringgit at banks and hotels. There are also money changer kiosks available at major shopping complexes and airport. Most major hotels charge a nominal fee for currency conversion.

10. Major credit and debit cards
|
VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club credit and debit cards are accepted in almost all department stores, supermarkets, petrol stations and restaurants.
