Can employing refugees bring value to companies in Asia-Pacific?

This paper examines the opportunities for the private sector to engage with refugees as well as for policy development at the regional level. It draw conclusions from direct dialogue with companies and practical examples from the sectors that could engage refugees. The paper also offers an overview of best practice and recommendations for creating the conditions required to encourage refugee self-reliance. This research paper was prepared for the Pathways to Employment: Expanding legal and legitimate labour market opportunities for refugees, event organised by the Regional Support Office of the Bali Process to reduce reliance on work in irregular markets and susceptibility to trafficking and employment in slave-like conditions.
