Business case analysis for responsible electronics manufacturing (IDH)
Electronics suppliers are often reluctant to invest in working conditions, as they see such investments as ‘cost-only’. The objective of this project was to analyze the business case for investing in improving working conditions in the electronics manufacturing industry in the Pearl River Delta (PRD), China. This report was commissioned by the IDH Sustainable Trade Initiative and produced by KPMG, together with IDH and ELEVATE (formerly known as INFACT). It includes key findings and recommendations for how investing to improve working conditions can generate productivity improvements and make business sense.
